| Note | This is considered to be a "flocculent intermediate" galaxy. Wikipedia's description of "flocculent" is "Unlike the well-defined spiral architecture of a grand design spiral galaxy, flocculent (meaning "flaky") galaxies are patchy, with discontinuous spiral arms." And it is "intermediate" because its structure is in between a full-on spiral and a spiral with a bar extending from its core. |
